Our radiology system is specially designed and programmed to achieve high quality radiographs using high frequency which means fewer repeat radiographs and reduced radiation and stress for the pet.

Processing the radiographs takes only 90 seconds.

We can readily complete radiographs to evaluate hips for OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). OFA certification is not completed until an animal is 24 months old.  However, prescreening is possible.

Notice the difference between the normal hips and the severely affected degenerative joint disease of hip dysplasia.

We can evaluate any soft or boney tissue.  We can evaluate for heart or lung disease.  We can evaluate for digestive problems.  Frequently we need 2 or more views to appreciate abnormal tissues. Cats are small enough that we may take cat-o-grams as scanning radiographs as in these films.

In other cases, the technique and beam will be focused on just a single part of the animal, for instance, just the chest or just the abdomen.  Other times we may focus just on the spine or on the skull.

We can evaluate for kidney or bladder stones.  Can you find the urolith (bladder stone)?

We can use contrast radiology to better determine certain conditions, or problems that do not show on standard radiology.

We use the services of board certified radiologists for further review, utrasonography and echocardiology.
